Der Donnerstag war ein Feiertag und fuer mich lang herbeigesehnt. An diesem Tag waren wir mit 2 anderen Familien verabredet. Wir Frauen "kennen" uns seit fast 13 Jahren nur via Internet, als wir alle schwanger waren. Unsere Kinder sind alle 2005 geboren. Am Anfang waren wir viele, ueber die Jahre haben sich einige zurueckgezogen, aber es haben sich dennoch viele Freundschaften im echten Leben gebildet, wir sind durch gute und schlechte Zeiten gegangen und haben uns gegenseitig den Ruecken gestaerkt, Rat gegeben und auch bei Bedarf den Kopf zurechtgerueckt. Ich weiss, viele koennen sich das gar nicht wirklich vorstellen, aber es ist immer noch eine tolle Erfahrung und ich bin dankbar fuer die entstandenen Kontakte, die einer Freundschaft im echten Leben nicht nachstehen.
Unser Treffpunkt war das Schloss Schoenbrunn, wobei das Sightseeing aber nicht wirklich im Vordergrund stand *lach*. Das Schloss wurde um 1640 erbaut und ist vor allem auch als Drehort der Sissi-Filme bekannt :-).
I was looking forward a long time to this Thursday since we met with 2 other families. Us women know each other for around 13 years, we all met each other online on an internet board while we were pregnant. All of us have a child born in 2005. In the beginning we were a lot of women, over the years some disappeared but still there are a lot of women left and a lot of real life friendships have developed. We went through good and bad with each other, have each others back, help each other, and also set each other straight if needed. I know that might be weird for some people, but these friendships aren't any different than other friendships. I'm grateful for all these women and fellow mothers!
Our meeting point was Schoenbrunn palace although sightseeing wasn't a real reason. Schoenbrunn Palace was build around 1640 and is also well known as filming location of the 3 "Sissi" movies.
Michaela und Familie wohnen in Wien und Steffi und Familie sind aus Koeln angereist fuers Wochenende.
Michaela and her family live in Vienna, while Steffi and family live in Cologne, Germany and travelled to Vienna for the weekend.
Da es ein Feiertag war, war es auch entsprechend voll auf dem Gelaende.
Since it was a public holiday the place was quite crowded.
Auch die Kinder haben sich blendend verstanden und hatten Spass.
Also the kids got along very well and had a lot of fun.

Auf Wunsch der Kinder gingen wir dann alle in das Labyrinth, wo auch wir Erwachsenen viel Spass hatten.
The kids wanted to visit the Labyrinth, so we all went in and that brought also lots of fun to us adults.

Weiter ging es dann fuer unsere Gruppe in die Innenstadt.
We continued our tour through downtown Vienna.
Ich bin nicht gross genug fuer Wiens Haustueren.
I'm not tall enough for Vienna's doors.
Es war schon weit in den Nachmittag hinein und wir entschieden uns dann fuer dieses Restaurant mit guter oesterreichischer Kueche, was ich auch weiterempfehlen kann. Sehr gutes Essen, moderate Preise, schoenes Ambiente.
It was already mid-afternoon and so we decided to grab a bite at this restaurant. If you are in Vienna, I really recommend this location with nice Austrian food, very moderate prices, and a cozy interior.
Danach setzen wir unseren Spaziergang durch die Stadt fort.
We continued our walking tour through the city.
Ich liebe den Wiener Dialekt und hab den EInheimischen so gern beim reden zugehoert.
I love the Vienna dialect, I could listen to that for hours and hours.
Gegen 19.00 haben wir uns von der Gruppe leider trennen muessen, da wir noch Koffer packen mussten. Wir hatten fuer den Freitag einen recht spontanen Ausflug geplant und wuerden Freitag Abend somit keine Zeit mehr zum Sachen packen haben. Es war ein superschoener Tag, der leider viel zu schnell um war. Ich hoffe auf Wiederholung :-).
Around 7 pm we had to part from the group since we had to pack our bags that night. For Friday we had a pretty spontaneous trip planned which wouldn't us allow time for packing on Friday night. But it was an incredible day which was one by way too fast. Hopefully we can do that again :-).
