We started this blog in 2011 while moving from Berlin, Germany to Greater Vancouver, Canada. The blog name was the distance between both cities, which now isn't the same anymore. In 2016 we became Canadian citizens in addition to our German citizenship. Around the same time Andreas was offered a move to the States (transfer within the same company he already was with in Canada) and so we moved to Greater Denver, Colorado, where we now live pretty rural in the Foothills of the Rockies. We love to travel as one can see in our blog posts.

Rom: Forum Romanum/ Rome: Roman Forum

Wednesday already was our last day in Rome and we had two more sights to visit. After breakfast and checking out of our room we went to the train station Termini to drop off our luggage at a storage facitlity (6 Euros). From there we took the underground up to the Roman Forum. It was already really hot, and so I purchased a sun hat at one of the street vendors for 10 Euros. I'm sure it might have been overpriced, but it was worth it for me, so I don't care :-). I just needed some shade on my face.

We climbed up to a view point where one got a fantastic view onto the entire Roman Forum.

We spent a little over three hours at the Roman Forum, way way too little time to see everything up close. For me this visit was very special. During school (German Abitur) I had some years of Latin an the entire book evolved around the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Now I've seen both in reality and can't really express how deeply impressed I was and still am.
