Am 02.08. hatten wir wieder vormittags schoenes Wetter vorausgesagt und so machten wir die rund 2h Fahrt nach Colorado Springs um Marion den "Garden of the Gods" zu zeigen. Ich bin immer wieder fasziniert von den roten Felsformationen, und dank des verregneten Somemrs war dazu alles wunderbar gruen als Kontrast.
On Aug 2nd, we had nice weather for the morning in the forecast and so we decided to show to Marion the "Garden of the Gods". Every time again I'm fascinated by the red rocks, and thanks to the rainy summer we had a lot of green contrast.
Auf dem Rueckweg haben wir noch bei einem Laden mit deutschen Lebensmitteln angehalten, um uns vor allem mit Wurst einzudecken. Dann kommt noch dies und das und schwupps sind 200 Dollar weg. Wir sind aber nur 2x im Jahr dort, von daher ist es okay :-). Gerade als wir an dem Laden ankamen, brach das Unwetter mit Gewitter und Regen los, somit hatten wir mir dem Vormittag wieder Glueck gehabt.
On our way home we stopped at at German Deli in Colorado Springs, mainly to buy cold cuts. Usually we find other things, too and quickly the bill is $200. Since we are doing that only twice a year it's not too bad for a little taste of home. Right when we pulled into the parking lot of the German store the thunderstorm and rain strarted. So we were quite lucky with the weather during our hike before :-).
