4960 Miles

We started this blog in 2011 while moving from Berlin, Germany to Greater Vancouver, Canada. The blog name was the distance between both cities, which now isn't the same anymore. In 2016 we became Canadian citizens in addition to our German citizenship. Around the same time Andreas was offered a move to the States (transfer within the same company he already was with in Canada) and so we moved to Greater Denver, Colorado, where we now live pretty rural in the Foothills of the Rockies. We love to travel as one can see in our blog posts.

Europe - 3: Grachtenfahrt durch Amsterdam/ canal tour through Amsterdam

05/27/2019

Das erste Fruehstueck in Europa gestaltete sich im Hotel ganz angenehm: Broetchen, Aufschnitt, Kaese, Milchkaffee und fuer Junior was neues: Schokosraspel fuer aufs Broetchen, was er als sehr lecker befand.

The first breakfast in Europe made us happy: buns, cold cuts, cheese, cafe au lait, and something new for Dominik: chocolate shavings (which he really liked).

anschliessend ging es die 100m zur Faehre

later we walked the 100m/ 300ft to the ferry

That swing will bring you across the rail :-), so one needs to have courage to use them :-).

we looked kind of curious at that snack vending machine

The beautiful weather was an invitation to do a canal tour, and we were really looking forward to do so. We took an one hour tour, and during the trip we got told a lot about different important houses, the architecture, and also about Amsterdam's history. But I'm not going to explain all the pictures :-).

And our time was over, the next group was entering the tour boat. We really liked it.
