Der Tag begann wunderbar sonnig, und so hat sich unser Besuch des Presque Isle Park in Marquette sehr gelohnt.
The day started with wonderful sunshine which made our visit to Presque Isle Park in Marquette a real joy.

Also wir dann einem weiteren Rastplatz mit Strand anhielten, machte die Kamera nur noch das - nix! Der Verschluss war defekt, was nicht unnorml ist nach rund 100.000 Aufnahmen. Und das natuerlich im Nirgendwo, somit war der Rest des Tages mit dem Handy und guter Rat teuer. Eine Reparatur waere finanziell auch sinnlos.
As we stopped at another roadside park with a beach, my camera shutter died which is rather typical after over 100,000 photos. Unfortunately, it happened in the middle of nowhere and also it wouldn't make sense to repair the shutter due to the costs. The remaining day, I took photos only with the iphone and we had to figure out what to do for the remaining part of that trip.
Am spaeten Nachmittag kamen wir dann in Fort Wilkins Historic State Park an, gelegen bei Copper Harbor. Das Fort wurde 1844 errichtet und diente als Militaerischer Stuetzpunkt.
In the late afternoon, we arrived at the Fort Wilkins Historic State Park which is located close to Copper Harbor. The post was built in 1844 and served military purposes.
Einige der Gebaeude koennen betreten werden und man erfaehrt ueber die Zeit.
Some of the buildings can be entered and one can learn about the history of this Fort.
Wir haben die Chance genutzt und auch im State Park die Nacht verbracht. Der Campground war uns aber alles in allem zu eng, die Stellplaetze sehr dicht beieinander.
We also took the opportunity and spent the night at the campground inside the State Park. Although the area was nice, we didn't like that the campsites are very close together.
