05 - 09/2005: Berlin (4)

Das war nun der Zwischenstand am Tag vor dem Abflug im Vorderhaus, aber über die nächsten Besuche haben wir noch tausende Dinge zu erledigen darin (unter allen Fenstern muss nochmal feinverputzt und gemalert werden, Fußbodenleisten fehlen usw.). Es ist auch noch nicht wirklich aufgeräumt, da vieles noch nicht seinen endgültigen Platz gefunden hat, also alles wie bei jedem Umzug, lach.

That was the status the day before our departure in the main house, but we still have thousands things to do there over the next few visits (the plastering and painting under all the windows need to be done again, baseboards are missing, etc.). It's also not really tidy yet, as many things haven't found their final place – so, just like any move, lol.

Die Eingangstür wurde im Oktober ersetzt, als wir schon weg waren.

The front door was replaced in October, after we had already left.

Den Bungalow hab ich einfach komplett vergessen bzw. war auch keine Zeit mehr, lediglich das Schlafzimmer vorher/nachher kann ich aktuell anbieten.

I completely forgot about the bungalow, or rather, there wasn't enough time; I can currently only offer the bedroom before/after.

Wie gesagt, es ist überall noch super viel zu machen, bevor es komplett wohnlich wirkt, von weiteren Renovierungsarbeiten über weitere Möbel bis hin zu bissel Deko. Aber wir haben in 4 Monaten super viel geschafft und das Kind und auch wir haben ein Dach über dem Kopf. Der Rest wird sich finden. Auch hier nochmal Dank an all die lieben Helfer!

Allgemein gibt es noch viel zu tun; Pool raus, Haus streichen, Carport abreissen, im Bungalow weiter renovieren, neuer Zaun, Tiefgaragenzufahrt verschliessen/auffüllen, weitere Fenster austauschen usw. 

As I said, there's still so much to do before it feels completely homey, from further renovations to more furniture and a bit of decoration. But we've accomplished a tremendous amount in four months, and the child and we ourselves now have a roof over our heads. The rest will fall into place. Thanks again to all the wonderful helpers!

In general, there is still a lot to do: remove the pool, paint the house, demolish the carport, continue renovating the bungalow, build a new fence, close/fill in the underground garage entrance, replace more windows, etc.
