Am Nachmittag ging es dann zur letzten Mission, der Mission Espada. Sie wurde 1731 hier eroeffnet, wobei die Kirche erst 1756 fertigggestellt wurde. Auch hier sind leider so gut wie alle Gebaeude verfallen, aber Infotafeln geben Auskunft zum frueheren Aussehen.
In the afternoon, we drove to see the last mission: Mission Espada. Mission Espada was opened in San Antonio in 1731, the church was completed in 1756. Also here, almost all of the buildings are destroyed but info boards give information about the different buildings, etc.

Inzwischen war es spaeter Nachmittag und sehr warm. Wir fuhren dann rund 1h noerdlich von San Antonio zu dem einzigen Buc-ee's der fuer uns diesmal im Urlaub erreichbar war. Dabei kamen wir auch hier wieder an Raffinieren vorbei.
It was late afternoon, and it was really warm. We drove the hour north of San Antonio to the only Buc-ee's which was reachable during this trip. Also here we noticed refineries along the road.
Buc-ee's Tankstellen koennen schnell mal an die 80 oder mehr Tanksaeulen haben. Eine Buc-ee's location hat die laengste Autowaschstrasse der Welt, und hier in New Braunfels ist der groesste Tankstellen-Laden der Welt mit 66.335 sqft (6162 qm).
Buc-ee's gas stations can easily have more than 80 gas pumps, one of the Buc-ee's locations has the World's longest car wash, and here at New Braunfels is the World's largest convenience store with 66,335 sqft.
Waehrend Andreas tankte, haben das Kind und ich schon mal mit dem shopping angefangen.
While Andreas filled up the Ford, Dominik and I started our shopping spree inside.
Das volltanken war das billigste am Besuch hier. :-). Anschliessend waren wir noch ein paar Lebensmittel etc kaufen, und zum Abendessen ging es wieder zum River Walk. Diesmal in das aelteste Restaurant dort.
Filling up the Ford was a lot cheaper than what we spent in the store :-). Next, we did some grocery shopping and other errands, and for dinner, we returned to the River Walk, this time we chose the oldest restaurant there.
