Am Morgen hatten wir uns mit Marion getroffen (Fotos spaeter) und waren gemeinsam fruehstuecken. Waehrend Dominik dann den Tag und die kommende Nacht bei Marion verbringen wuerde, ging es fuer Andreas und mich nach Koepenick. Das Ziel war das Zeughaus vom 1. FC Union, die diese Saison nun in der 1. Bundesliga spielen.
In the morning we met with Marion (photos in a later post) and we all went for breakfast together. While Dominik spent the rest of the day and also the night with her, Andreas and I took the S-Bahn to Koepenick. Our destination was the Zeughaus Berlin, a fan store of the 1. FC Union which this season is a member of the 1. Bundesliga.
Andreas wurde fuendig, und ausser dem Hoodie gab es noch einen Fanschal sowie einen kleinen Fanschal fuer die Autoscheibe.

Wir schlenderten dann noch etwas, hatten Mittagessen und anschliessend ging es zurueck zur Wohnung, am Abend trafen wir uns dann noch mit ein paar Freunden in der Deponie (Fotos auch spaeter).
We strolled around the area a bit more, had lunch, and then went back to the apartment. Later we met for dinner with friends at the Deponie (photos later, too)

Morgens holten wir Dominik dann bei Marion in Hellersdorf ab, und kamen an dem Gebaeude vorbei in welchem wir uns im Juni 1999 kennengelernt hatten.
In the morning we picked up Dominik at Marion's, and on our way we passed the building were we met in June 1999.

Anschliessend ging es zurueck zur Wohnung, um Dominiks Sachen abzulegen. Als wir wieder rauskamen, standen die beiden Post-Fahrraeder vor der Tuer.
We went back to the apartment to get rid of Dominik's stuff. When we left we saw these two postal service bikes.
Um die Geschichtskenntnisse beim Kind weiter zu vertiefen, ging es dann zum DDR Museum.
To deepen junior's history knowledge we visited the DDR Museum.
So sah es hier uebrigens zu DDR Zeiten aus, bevor das Palasthotel, was sich an dieser Stelle befand, abgerissen wurde. Geschichte zum Hotel:

Der Eintritt ist relativ guenstig und das Museum gibt einen netten Ueberblick ueber den Alltag in der DDR.
The entrance fee is quite cheap, and the museum does give a very good impression of life in the GDR.

Und dann der beste Teil ... eine DDR Neubauwohnung mit typischer Einrichtung. Viele Schraenke kann man oeffnen und hineinsehen. Das wurde zu unserem letzten Besuch neu gemacht, vorher war der Wohnungsteil an einem anderen Ende des Museums und deutlich kleiner.
And then my favorite part: a GDR new construction apartment. A lot of the cabinets can be opened and seen what it is hidden inside. That's an improvement to our last some years ago where the apartment part was at a different location in the museum and much smaller.

Na so schlimm war die Einrichtung doch gar nicht. So ähnlich sah es auch in einer Wessi-Wohnung im Neubau der 70er aus.
ReplyDeleteich glaub, das sah in Deutschland ueberall realtiv gleich aus ... und heute sind die haesslichen braun- und gruen-Toene in den USA ja immer noch in *lol*.
