road trip 2022 (25): Pella, IA

  Nun war schon Tag 30, und am Morgen ging es fuer uns nun weiter. Bevor wir den State Park verliessen, fuhren wir noch zum Aussichtsturm.

On day 30, we continued our trip but before we left the State Park, we stopped at the observation tower.

Andreas hatte im Internet das niedliche Staedtchen Pella entdeckt. Der Ort wurde 1847 von 800 niederlaendischen Einwanderern gegruendet und das sieht man auch eindeutig. Wir spazierten durch den Stadtkern und hatten auch noch ein Poffertjes  :-).

Andreas discovered the small town of Pella when searching the internet. The town was founded in 1847 by 800 immigrants from the Netherlands, and the town totally shows :-). We walked through downtown and also had some poffertjes.

Das Besucherzentrum ist in einer Muehle.

Es gab auch eine Baeckerei und einen Fleischer, aber alles war natuerlich an den amerikanischen Geschmack angepasst, somit nahmen wir auch nichts mit.

There was a bakery and a butcher shop but all items were made to please American taste buds so we didn't purchase anything.

Es gab noch einmal ein Problem am Auto, GsD waren wir noch am Stadtrand und Andreas konnte das Teil selbst austauschen.

We had another small problem with the truck but luckily we still were able to find a parts store and Andreas could repair it himself.

Tag 31: Ausblick aus dem Fenster am Morgen

Am fruehen Nachmittag sind wir dann zurueck in Colorado.

We are back in Colorado in the early afternoon.

Beim aussteigen aus dem Auto warteten wir dann lieber noch einen Moment, ein Schwarzbaer lief grad vorbei.

We waited a moment before we got out of the car, a black bear was walking by.

Anschliessend ging es dann and Camper ausraumen etc, und nur kurze Zeit spaeter ging es dann ausnahmsweise fuer mich alleine auf Reisen.

We emptied the camper and just a short time after I went on another trip, this time on my own.
